Lucia Sceranková
The sea flowing across the table, the sunset that has the ability to spread its glitter beyond the boundary of the image or the moment before the scissors cut through the material to forever separate what was previously a whole. This is just a tiny part of the work of an artist who often uses the medium of photography to manipulate reality, to play out a spectrum of possibilities for contemplating a dreamlike and fragile world, and the very nature of the medium of photography. Her approach is drawn to consider photography as a dynamic interface and process that leads to the creation of spatial installations and working with the moving image. She has a long-standing interest in the emotional resonance of the image and the sculptural language of the material beneath and beyond the surface of the photograph.
